Amazing natural Dragon
Everyone has to visit Hvítserkur. See the dragon drinking water from the ocean and you will find a reason to live and share. This is amazing, unforgettable, unbelievable that nature did it for real. When in Iceland, it’s a must. A reason for a fantastic one-day trip from Reykjavik. Just remember the wind can be very cold.
Beautiful waterfall that is not crowded
Kolufoss waterfall is very close to Hvammstangi and is about 5 Kms from the Ring road. It is beautiful and one can see it on either side of the one lane bridge. It is possible to get down from one side of the bridge and get closer to the falls and the canyon. Pure unadulterated nature and people get down at their own risk.
A nice day in the North west
We did enjoy the bus drive along the western coast Vatnsnes Peninsula. It had been raining all day so the road was super muddy and all the cars we saw were covered within seconds. The rain had let up while we were driving allowing us to enjoy the scenery and wildlife! We even saw a glimpse of the West Fjords peeking through the clouds at one point. A wonderful day with a nice an knowledgeable local guide.
